I’ve brought several rats to Dr. Burgess and Dr. Surrency over the years, and I could not have asked for more loving and expert care of my little ones. I’ve since moved away from Portland, but I would give anything to have access to this clinic again. There is absolutely no better place to take your small and exotic friends in Portland metro, hands down.
Wonderful staff! Dr. Burgess is so knowledgeable, and will share with you too, very interesting for the curious who enjoy learning! His advice was spot-on for my guinea pig sow with a liver enzyme disorder. She's been healthy for 16 months, no bloating etc. He is also the doctor who spayed her, now she has a boyfriend named Ben and no worries of baby piggies! They always take wonderful care of my Hedgie Winston! He is 5 now and I always feel safe leaving him in their care. They have educated me so much on how to give him the best care, Plus they make me feel like a special Hedgie mom I will always bring my furry/prickly kids here and recommend them to everyone.
The team here is so great and clearly cares deeply about providing excellent care to small and exotic pets. They brought my chinchilla back from GI stasis and a torn knee ligament. One year later and he continues to have a clean bill of health! We’ve seen both Dr. Burgess and Dr. Desonier over the years and they are both very knowledgeable and skilled practitioners. Your pet will be in good hands here!
Everything about our experience was amazing... we have a lot on our plate right now, and it's been a very emotional time.. for the icing on the cake our tortoise, Lucy, somehow had a stalk of grass coming out of his right nostril. We tried to pull it out with tweezers but it would not budge!! Our fantastic experience started the moment we called their office. They showed complete empathy to our current situation and gave me an idea of what we could look to expect best and wor...st case scenario. They treated and cared for us, just as much as they did Lucy.. I am thrilled To report they were able to figure out what happens and clear all of the remaining grass out from the palette in her mouth as well as her nasal cavity. They were incredibly informative and extremely caring and understanding. The charges were extremely fair and well-priced. If you have any type of the situation with your exotic or just want a veterinary office to handle routine wellness and check up's they are the place to go.
