We were long term patients of Dr. Mike's up until the horrid after care of my beloved cat on May 6, 2019 when I turned over my cats remains to Dr. Mike and DGS of WNY cremations. He has 2 contracts with aftercare services and I had NO IDEA. It was hard enough to ask the said cremation place for a paw print. I called never received a phone call back with said cremation place nor did the main receptionist call us back regarding a paw print. So I had my husband call since I coul...d hardly talk. I had my cat for almost 19 years (12 weeks-5 days before his 19th birthday). Dr. Mike did send me a nice card AND donated to Cornell University where my father graduated too. I then sent a gratitude thank you card back and never received a response. Mind you before I sent the card my husband called the main vet tech to tell her we were pulling out of the veterinary facility due to the negligence of the aftercare facility DGS. We weren't charged for the cremation, since the manager did call my husband. But they promised they would do paw prints on paper PRIOR to the cremation. Tried to open the incinerator,but it was to late is what the manager told my husband. My cat was already Incinerated. Where's the compassion? I've worked in vet hospitals (have done cremations) for many years in CA and NYS. I would never think of telling a client something like that. We didn't even get an apology from Dr. Mike or his staff. I'm really disgusted and the lack of empathy towards my beloved cat that I adopted out in California. I will never recommend Dr. Mike or DGS. My cat passed away in my arms at home. I'm very grateful I didn't have Dr. Mike euthanize my cat so I could at LEAST spend a lot of time with my "Simba" and I could get a lock of fur myself. I honestly don't even know if the cremation ashes are my cats. Since they thought a different cat had the paw prints. I can't bear to look at the cedar box. My husband took him down to my parents house. I would have buried my baby myself if I had known how these 2 places really operate. I thought and wanted a different cremation facility had I would have known. Warning to people make sure at any place if you want a paw print it is better to get it yourself. I've worked at places that do them. Dr. Mike is not one of them. And you know how many contracts the particular veterinarian has.
My husband and his family have been a client for 20 years and since he had his own practice. For the past 6 years I have trusted him with my dogs and puppies. I breed Rottweilers. It's a quiet office, no commotion or wait time. Sydney, Janelle, and Tia work together to make every experience quick and painless. They know us on a first name basis. Their pricing for a puppy vaccination package is amazing for anyone looking to get a new pup vaccinated for the WHOLE YEAR. They never push any further testing or try to squeeze the money out of your wallet. Dr Mike takes the time to explain everything. We would never go anywhere else. Our only complaint is they don't confirm upcoming appointments or send out reminders...we miss a few here or there. They never hold it against us ????
really liked the way things were explained to me. dr. mike is really funny, but really knows his stuff. everyone there was extremely friendly and nice
